    Also note that the J10 Qashqai + 2 has the aircooled (Vented) disc which is wider than the non aircooled J10 5 seater. I just got caught out on this with mine. So the disc in this video has what looks like 2 discs glued to each other where as the 5 seater is a single disc.

    Do you move the adjuster up or down to tighten handbrake?

      In this case, you can see it starting at 3:02 minutes in the video.

    when you put the new brake pads in what do you use? copper grease or a silicone grease?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  3 года назад

      In this video for the brake pads, we did not use the grease, but a paste and you can get acquainted with it on the website under the article 3078 LIQUI MOLY.

      Yes I think I might have done all the cleaning of the disc and components before final assembly.

    • @kaistorhagen

      That is why you use brake cleaner to finish it off before mounting the wheel

      @@jozsefstricker3983 We never see if they actually clean the pads, but since grease still remain on the back panel... Grease on the brake pads is a big no-no.

      You are right and some moments in the video were omitted, but our channel is not educational, but it is only for informational purposes. We strongly recommend that all replacements, especially those related to the brake system, be made exclusively by a specialized car workshops.

    So according to Google you can't have a combination of brake shoes and brake pads on the same wheel but in this video it has both?

    • @MrCarlSteveo
      @MrCarlSteveo 2 года назад +2

      The shoes are the handbrake mechanism that uses the inside of the disc brake. They aren't used for braking just purely for the handbrake.

    what are u spinnint at 3:03? and why??

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  3 года назад

      At 3:03, we unscrew the adjusting element that extends the parking brake pads.
      This is so that when the parking brake is applied, the pads can rest on the brake disc.

      We cannot show all the nuances and problems during replacement, it is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend making replacements at specialized car services.
